Stephanie asked us the basic questions where are you looking to rent, how many bedrooms, bathrooms, but when it came to how much we could afford she asked why we weren't trying to buy something since we were willing to pay quite a bit per month for a rental. We explained our situation and she talked us Into meeting with her mortgage broker. He was amazing!! He had us pre-approved in a matter of days and looking at houses to buy within a week. My husband and I were looking for a home with mother/daughter features and it was definitely hard with our price range, but Stephanie made it all happen. My wife and I met Stephanie back in 2000 when looking for our very first home. After dealing with some stiff and sometimes undesirable agents we contacted Steph by chance.
Our first impression was this woman is crazy ( in a very very good way) her honesty and genuine sincerity was immediately plain to see. Also her sense of humor, which can throw some off a bit, was exactly what we needed at the time given the fact that it was our first home.
Since that first purchase we have either bought or sold a total of 5 homes with Stephanie's help. Our most recent one was just this past October. She was even there to help us when we tried to make a go of living in PA. Even when there was no commission she helped us out and made sure we were in good hands through it all.
Our trust in her judgement and skill set has gotten to the point over the years that I almost give her the keys and let her drive. I know she would never steer us wrong. At times she has protected me from myself. When I have become fixated on a home that was clearly wrong in every way she would help me see the light. Its kind of like having a real estate therapist.
Stephanie has made home purchasing for me personally an almost worry free process ( there is always something to worry about ).
She has always been available for our late night crazy question calls and her follow through is without comparison. She gets it done period. Her referrals are also spot on I really feel comfortable that who ever she recommends is also operating at the same level of excellence honesty and sincerity that Steph is.
If this review seems a bit biased its probably because over all those years Stephanie has also become our friend but trust me anyone who knows us knows we tell it like it is. That's actually one of the primary reasons we like Stephanie.
So in closing if you are looking for someone who is going to take a lot of the worry out of the home buying process. Someone who will sell you not just what you want but what you need. A person who will find what fits you not her. An individual who will look to establishing long lasting relationships not just commission. Then by all means SHE IS THE ONE
Sometimes I joke that she will be helping us select our nursing home when the time comes.

If you're looking to sell OR buy (or both as in my case) in Long Island Stephanie is the PERSON to deal with !
I've used Stephanie 3 times....once to sell a home in Smithtown, which went quickly, effectively and for the right price !
Then I moved back to Smithtown 7 years later and had a home purchase fall through 10 days before closing....and I needed to buy a house immediately...I called Stephanie, who was on vacation and 24 hours later I had a contract on a wonderful home.
Fast forward 9 years, and a company relocation. Stephanie was pitted against two other agents by relocation company and won out due to her incredible accuracy on my home value and she sold for exactly the predicted value....and did so quickly.

We were so fortunate to have found Stephanie Calinoff with Douglas Elliman when we decided to move from Brooklyn to Suffolk County. As our Real Estate Advisor, she helped us find the right house in the right neighborhood for the right price. She was super patient as we traveled from Brooklyn to look at homes over several weeks. She also cautioned us about unreasonable offers when we fell too quickly for overpriced homes.
In short, she was always on our side working to make our purchase as streamlined and successful as possible. First thing I have to say is. I am sorry to Stephanie for taking so long to write.. what a phonomenl job Stephanie did for us. I don't have to say to the most of us moving and buying a home is a stressful nerve-wracking and emotional up and down experience. Stephanie did a great job leading us thru the up and down Rollercoaster ride. And she did in a very professional and relaxed manner. Poor communication , not getting back to me in a timely fashion and not paying attention to detail. That has all changed since I met Stephanie a few years back.
